Job Description : 

 We are seeking a Research Associate to join the Reagents R&D group at 
our Center for Personalized Health and Innovation (cPHI) to perform 
histology procedures in support of the development of new products for our 
cutting-edge multispectral unmixing Mantra and Vectra imaging systems. 
The candidate will be part of the Tissue Imaging Team and be tasked with 
designing, developing and optimizing protocols to test new reagents for 
tissue staining. In addition, the candidate will be expected to perform 
imaging, data compiling/analysis/interpretation and communicating results 
to the team.
                                                     
Responsibilities:
•Experimental design, planning, and scientific execution of research 
projects.
•Record experimental results for research and development projects in 
electronic laboratory notebooks. Demonstrate proactive and original 
thinking in execution of research tasks involved with all projects.  Identify 
technical issues, recommending solutions and communicating results to the 
team.
•Collaborate with other project staff to accomplish specific task or team 
objectives within project timelines.  Accountable for meeting scheduled 
completion dates and for providing timely feedback when dates cannot be 
met. 
•Author detailed project reports and exhibit excellent oral and written 
communication skills
•Interact with project team members and peers to anticipate and resolve 
day to day issues working in a matrix organisational structure.


Job Requirements : 

•Requires a histotechnician or histotechnologist certification or a BS degree 
(preferably in Cell Biology) with 2+ years’ experience, or a MS degree with 
0-2 years’ experience or equivalent with experience in histology and 
microscopy.
•Fluency in preparation of histological material, cryo- and paraffin-based, 
fixation, sectioning, and sample storage.
•Hands-on experience with immunostaining (immunohistochemistry and 
immunofluorescence) is required,
•Demonstrated experience in imaging tissue samples (such as 
Epifluorescence, Confocal, and/or Spectral Imaging Microscopy).
•A thorough understanding of experimental design, scientific principles, 
and the ability to perform troubleshooting experiments.
•Additional experience with spectral imaging and image analysis a plus.
