someone this morning asked about a commercial vendor for
fluorescent tubulin (i deleted the msg). Just ran across
a Molecular Probes price list of new reagents:

T-7460 tetramethylrhodamine conjugated tubulin. 4 TMR
molecules per tubulin heterodimer. 3 cycles of temp-
dependent polymerization/depolymerization purification
_after_ labeling. $125 for 100 ug

2nd item: has anyone heard anything about the status
of Molecular Dynamics' activity on enforcing the 3d
confocal patent they obtained from Sarastro? Is this
going to mean increased costs for users? i for one
am rooting for Promega's challenge of the PCR patent
held by Roche (after buying Cetus).
