Hi Cynthia

Did the problem happen slowly or gradually? Do you see a difference between when you just turn on the camera and if you leave it on for a few hours before imaging? Is the whole image blurry and the dark background everywhere or do you have variations from one area of the image to another?

There could be condensation on the camera chip. This would explain the blurriness and change of background colour. If this is the case, keeping the camera on for a few hours should improve both blurriness and background colour because the camera heats up and the water evaporates. Unfortunately, the problem comes back when the camera cools down and leaving the camera on all the time is only a temporary solution. If this is the case, the camera needs to be serviced and it should then work as normal.

Dear Sylvie,
Thank you for reaching out to me. I presume it's the camera because viewing
tissues via the microscope eyepiece gives a vivid image but then, when the
images are captured it doesn't come out well. The color is different,
background is dull, and images are not sharp enough. The camera model is
RisingCam C3CMOS10000KPA.

Best regards
Cynthia
