You may use sub resolution latex beads (tetraspec) from molecular probes measure XY and Z resolution with the help of FWHM test.

If so, how often, on what standards, etc. We use pollen slides every so often, but have noticed some inconsistencies in the last few months. We were hoping to find a better QC protocol that would also account for depth, as the pollen slides are quite thin. Any input or literature is appreciated!
