Exciting opportunity at Lumen Dynamics (X-Cite)

Title:  European channel manager, Life Sciences


The European Channel Manager, Life Science (LS) is a senior sales role that will be responsible for growing our LS fluorescence illuminator sales in Europe through a sales channel.   The successful candidate will be directly responsible for developing our X-Cite fluorescence illuminator business by nurturing relationships with the major microscope suppliers that are headquartered in Germany. He or she will work in collaboration with the Global Sales Manager to execute strategic initiatives with the major microscope companies.  In addition, they will be responsible for growing our dealer network throughout the rest of Europe to maximize our market share in the fluorescence illuminator market.



If your track record shows you can...

·         Develop and execute an annual business plan and sales strategy for the European market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability

·         Work autonomously to set daily, weekly and monthly objectives from a home-based office

·         Identify and develop a strong relationship with the key contacts at the major microscope companies with the goal to increase our business in Europe

·         Visit and train area sales managers from the major microscope companies to increase our visibility with end users

·         Nurture, expand and develop the dealer channel within Europe to increase our market access in key countries and markets

·         Manage and evaluate all Life Science Sales Channels (OEM, Integrators, Distributors, Web Sales and End User) including where needed, rationalization of the channels to ensure that we are getting the optimal sales performance and ROI from each channel partner

·         Maintain and enhance an accurate sales pipeline process within Salesforce.com.  Work closely with the Vice President of Marketing and the Vice President of Operations to ensure there is an accurate annual and 3 month rolling sales forecast for manufacturing

·         Develop relationships with industry leaders to encourage partners to support the company's business growth efforts

·         Implement appropriate performance measures and mechanisms to ensure consistent growth and performance

·         Develop such sales compensation, recognition and reward programs as are deemed necessary to drive disciplined growth

·         Represent the company and its capability to customers, partners, and other stakeholders

·         Bring guidance and customer feedback to enhance positioning strategy, technology and marketing efforts

·         Control expenses to meet budget guidelines

·         Travel frequently throughout Europe and 2-4 trips to Canada HQ for update meetings (25-40% depending on level of business activity)
And if you have...



Ø  Degree Science in field preferably Biology, Chemistry.

Ø  5-10 years of sales and/or channel management experience in a high growth technology environment.

Ø  Large Key Account Management Required

Ø  Knowledge of the major microscope companies and microscopy market an asset

Ø  Demonstrated experience managing a highly effective sales team and sales channel to  increase sales

Ø  Ability to foster and maintain high level customer relationships at various levels within an organization.

Ø  Must have experience with PC software, Microsoft Office products and salesforce.com
