We are looking for a highly motivated, team-oriented

*Scientist / Microscopist / Image Analyst*

to join our Molecular Imaging Group of the department of Cellular Neurology
at the Hertie Institute for Clinical Brain Research in Tübingen, Germany (
http://www.hih-tuebingen.de/cn/).
You will work on different types of microscopes (2photon-, fluorescence-,
laser scanning-microscopes). Projects in the group include e.g. long-term
intravital and slice culture imaging experiments, as well as projects
involving characterisation of newly developed fluorophores.
Responsibilities of the position include the maintenance, user training and
continued development of our microscope setups as well as support in image
analysis.

Applicants with a keen interest in implementation and adaption of image
analysis algorithms for quantitative analysis of microscopy data will be
preferred. The applicant is expected to hold a PhD or have long-term
equivalent experience in techniques using light and fluorescence
microscopy, image analysis and will need to have or develop an excellent
understanding of confocal and 2-photon microscopy.

General requirements
We encourage interdisciplinary work and are seeking enthusiastic and
ambitious candidates holding a PhD in Physics/Engineering,
Statistics/Bioinformatics or Biological sciences to apply. A keen interest
in microscopy, as well as in image analysis should be demonstrated. Good
communication as well as English language skills are also required.

The position is available immediately and initially limited to 2 years.
Employment, payment and social benefits are determined by the Public Sector
