Hello Microscopists,

Recently George advertised on 4k monitor. How about 5k one!
Please comment if anybody had their hands and eyes (!) on
the first 5k 27" Dell monitor

http://microsoft-news.com/dell-ultrasharp-27-worlds-first-display-with-ultra-hd-5k-resolution-will-be-available-for-pre-order-from-nov-13th/

Pricewise $2500 is a lot. I grabbed Seiki 39" 4k TV/monitor on $299 sale,
and did not regret (they are long gone for this price). Performance/price
ratio is fantastic. The limitation is that 4k resolution only through HDMI
(special cable required) and only at 30Hz which is fine for static images
or slow movies.

I wonder if companies are actively working on compatibility of their
software with ultra high resolution monitors like 4k, 5k. I can tell
that Windows 7 does not look nice at 4k. Moreover, it seems that
there are no widespread data transfer protocols and video cards
to provide 3840x2160 picture at 60Hz.

Cheers,
Arvydas

Dear Deepak,

if your colleague tries to stain lipid droplets -not vesicles in the strict
sense- these are specifically stained with BODIPY or NileRedO. CARS is
another very good option if you have the tools.
