Microscopy Technician Funded by Vancouver Hospital

A) Job Description: Summary- assist with installation, use and maintenance
of confocal/2P microscopes at VCH and Brain Research Center.

B) Responsibility for Confocal/2P and multi-user wide field fluorescence
microscopes in the labs of:
1)      Brian MacVicar
2)      Tim Murphy
3)      Alaa el-Husseini
4)      Yu Tian Wang

C) Detailed job description

1)      Assist with the installation of confocal and other advanced microscopes
and optical imaging    systems
2)      Repair and trouble shooting of microscopes and lasers
3)      Plan and implement modifications and upgrades to systems
4)      Teach students, postdocs and other trainees in the use of the
microscopes, software systems and proper experimental protocols in imaging
experiments
5)      Assist in experiments, analysis of imaging data and development of
protocols for imaging experiments
