We also had problems with our Biorad radiance MP 2100.
The system sometimes stopped in the middle of a experiment.
Turning off everything helped.
The problem seemed to be the firewire card. Try to use one of the
other connectors on the card. In the end we bought a new card and
the system works fine after the exchange.
