Dear List, Propidium iodide is known to penetrate cells in which the plasma
membrane integrity is breached (i.e., apoptotic, necrotic and treatments
such as fixation induced permeability). How PI enters the cells, just by
diffusion, I would like to know is there any specific info on plasma
membrane potential changes and the influx of this dye. Or anybody did an
experiment such as visualizing the PI and the change in membrane potential
together. Any info on the specific mechanism of PI entry or the factors
which might affect other than above would be greatly appreciated.
Thanking you in advance
