Workshop on Applied Microscopy in Kidney Research - April 26-30, 2011
O'Brien Center for Advanced Renal Microscopy and Analysis
Indiana University School of Medicine
Indianapolis, Indiana

This is a hands on practical training course designed to train renal
fellows, post-docs, graduate students, faculty and technicians in the art
of intravital two-photon imaging of the kidney under physiologic and
pathophysiologic conditions. By completion of the course, participants
will be sufficiently familiar with practical procedures/approaches to be
able to set up, undertake and analyze these types of studies at their
own institutions, if necessary with continued support from the Indiana
Center for Biological Microscopy faculty and staff. It is also anticipated
that this forum will establish clear standard operating procedures for
some of the more demanding imaging models of kidney such as
quantifying renal blood flow and proximal tubule endocytic rates.

This is a four and a half day course comprising 2-3 hours of lectures
followed by 4-8 hours of practical demonstrations and hands on
practical training. A detailed course outline, itinerary and registration
form are provided at the following website
http://www.nephrology.iupui.edu/obrien2011/. If you are interested in
attending or need further details please contact Malgorzata ("Gosia")
