I really do apprciate this type of announcement as it is a good way to 
hear about things I might not otherwise see. However, I think that a lot
of list users would benifit if people would put some kind of location
information at/near the start of such annoucements. There are  people
on this list from all over the world. It is a bit of the dissapointment to 
read about all these great talks and only find out they are on the wrong side
of the atlantic in the mail signature.
