I feel guilty about the Duke's job! You were good for that job and worked hard. I did not like Sam was unable to tell there is a strong innercandidate. MANAGER FOR BIOIMAGING CORE FACILITY (University of Pennsylvania)

The School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a staff position as Manager or Technical Director of the Penn Vet Biomedical Imaging Core Facility.  This facility provides state of the art instrumentation and support to the entire University of Pennsylvania research community including the Veterinary, Dental, and Medical Schools, Wistar Institute, and The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.  The core contains state-of-the-art instrumentation for in vivo and live cell micro-imaging, histology, and 3 and 4D analysis, including an upright Leica multi-photon laser scanning confocal SP5 microscope, a Yokagawa CSU-X1 spinning disk confocal on an inverted microscope with environmental chamber, and an inverted Leica SP5-II confocal/FLIM system.  Applicants should have a strong biological, biophysical, optical, and/or imaging background. Broad expertise with microscopy is required, including a mastery and knowledge of imaging equipment and applications.  The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree and a background in multi-photon microscopy, live cell, and/or FRET/FLIM imaging.  Expertise with image analysis software including Volocity, Metamorph, Imaris, and Image J is desirable.  Primary responsibilities include day to day management of the core and assisting users with training, microscope operation & optimization, and image analysis.  The position demands excellent inter-personnel and communication skills.  The manager reports directly to the Scientific Director who will direct the manager's efforts.
