The older Biorad confocal microscopes have a macro provided for the purpose -
I believe that the later Biorad system doesn't have macros but may nevertheless
be able to do the required image arithmetic. There is a procedure documented
in the Biorad MRC 500 & 600 manual for setting it up. I would have expected
that most other confocals would have allowed you to do this too.
