Thank you for the tremendous response to Lumencor's previous job posting for a North American VAR Manager.  This position is now filled; however, we still have openings available for Sales Associates for OEM sales in North America, Europe and Asia.  The job description follows:

Job Description
Sales Associate

Lumencor, Inc., based in Beaverton, Oregon, manufactures high performance solid state lighting subsystems, "light engines," for bioanalytical instruments, medical devices and life science research tools. Products sell to life science OEMs, core laboratories and academicians throughout North America, Europe and Asia. The company is seeking Sales Associates for American OEM, European and Asian Territories to complement and support the company’s existing sales team.

The candidate will be responsible for managing established customers, resellers and distributors as well as establishing new customers. The ideal candidate should have

Bachelors or Masters degree in biology, chemistry, engineering or physics
3 - 5 years of industrial experience preferred, ideally in sales for a microscope or biotech company
desire to problem solve and work independently within a small organization
good written and oral communication skills
good computer skills
excellent organizations skills

The ideal candidate will enjoy a range of sales and engineering support responsibilities including but not limited to
support the company’s existing reseller network
grow the company’s reseller network in their given territory
participate fully in microscopy courses and biotech/optics tradeshows to promote light engine products
problem solve and work independently within a small organization

and possess the flexibility necessary to multi-task assignments in a demanding, fast-paced technical environment. The position requires travel to support customer service needs and Lumencor’s trade show presence.
