Dear list members,

thanks to all of you who replied with helpful suggestions to our request for
information on where to find a water-dipping/immersion objective for a 160
mm-corrected scope. There were not that many options to choose from due to our
somewhat 'outdated' demands. Thanks to a hint by Jim Zavislan at Lucid Inc., we
eventually got a very nice and bright lens from LOMO Optics @
http://www.lomooptics.com/ (301 515 2667 ) with the following characteristics:

30x, N.A. 0.9, water-immersion, corrected for a tube length of 160 mm, 0.17 mm
coverslip-corrected, 1.3 mm working distance, built-in iris, rather short (about
30 mm), O.D. 20 mm (which can easily be reduced to about 16 mm by just
unscrewing the outer lens cap (which does not seem to have any other purpose
than adding some aesthetics)).

This is not intended to be an advertisement; we just thought that some of you
might be interested in that information as well. Apparently they also have a 50x
OI with iris, a 60x OI, and a 100x OI with iris (all of which are corrected for
a 160 mm tube length). Finally they sell a 100x oil immersion objective
corrected for infinity. They are not necessarily the cheapest but their prices
are (heavily) negotiable!

Thanks again, with best regards,

Axel
