Jenny,

Rhodamine-like works. Whether it is optimal or not I don't know.

"Reported spectra: Abs 600-620 nm, Em about 680nm" ... "Em about 680
nm; broad excitation peak, 450-550 nm; Em 670 nm; Abs 511nm". From
Fluorescence Microscopy vol 2 by F.W.D. Rost. IT looks like it would
work with a KrAr laser and a 568 ex/ 680/32 em filter combination.

The Nikon fluorescence brochure also states excitation as green and
recommedns their emisson filter sets G-2A (ex 510-560, Dichroic 580,
em LP590) and G-1B (ex 546/10, dichroic and em as sabove).

Hope this helps,

Ian.
