Carol and list,
We just purchased an CD-RW from APS Technologies (Yamaha 4416S, run on a
PowerMac) and have been happy with the write once part...not totally
thrilled with the rewritable aspect.
In our case, writing small files or many files at once leads to fatal disk
errors, which lock the CD. Then you need to run the disk utility to
'rescue' the disk, reverting the CD to its state before the crashed writing
session. A lot of wasted time (not to mention the part about putting files
in the trash but still having them on the CD-W)
In my estimation, buying a separate hard drive (or Jazz etc.) and a
write-only burner would have made more sense.
Oh well,
-Mark
