David,
Are you reusing the network card, or did you obtain a new one?

Our network card was showing intermittent signs of dying, so we worked with Leica and received a new one from Germany. Using the new network card, we obtained the same problems that you are describing, which went away when reinstalled the former card. I'll let you know of the solution after we have a gap in the user schedule to troubleshoot this again, probably with an on-site service technician next week.

Sorry I don't have an answer, but between the two of us, we'll find an answer soon. I'll let you know what we find out. Coincidentally, we were working on this just this morning after installing the network card late Friday.

Good luck,
~Gregg

Subject: Leica SP5 fibre network card settings

Please could someone provide me with a full set of configuration settings for
the Leica SP5's Intel Pro fibre optic network card running under XP?

OUr SP5 computer blew its motherboard some 5 weeks ago and we are still not
back in operation. A loan Win7 machine from the factory doesn't work
(suspect corrupt hardware tree repository in latest software).

After weeks of frustration and at Leica's request, I have now built a
replacement PC with exact same CPU, motherboard and Intel Pro fibre optic
network card (all sourced off of eBay) and loaded latest software from
engineer (v4.2).

It all loads OK and communicates to scan head as we can hear all the normal
startup rumbles etc. But when we go live, if scan resolution and speed are set
above about 50x50 pixels at 700 Hz, the system freezes after the first
raster!!!!

Neither engineer, nor me knows why but a suspicion is the configuration of
the fibre optic network card connection between scanner and PC.

If anyone could send me a full set of screenshots of all the configuration
tabs for the card (or manually write down all settings and mail them to me)
and of all the installed windows components (from add remove software
control panel /windows components options tab), or if anyone has rebuilt a
SP5 computer from scratch and knows all of the settings, I would be
extremely grateful to hear from you.

Thanks in advance,
