I just threw some Thermanox coverslips on the stage of our MRC-600 and
there was absolutely no fluorescence in the 488 nm channel.  There was just
a hint in the rhodamine channel, but we're talking almost none.  I doubt
you could even see it without the room lights completely off.
 
The coverslips say:
