I am interested in the 405 laser since I already have the UV optics and our
UV argon laser is coming to the end of its lifetime. Does anybody know how
much the 405 laser costs?
Thanks,
Zifu

Just to expand the topic, has anybody swapped their (expensive, hot) UV
Argon laser for a (much cheaper, and cooler) 405 nm laser? The UV optics
are already there so is it just a case of swapping filter sets and
aligning? Would the AOTF need changing/recalibrating?
Aside from running costs, would spherical and chromatic abberrations be
reduced significantly at 405nm? We have a Zeiss 63x 1.4 NA plan-apo
objective with a shocking UV hotspot that Zeiss can't seem to "tweak"
away except by opening the pinhole wide.
