Full Day Image Processing Workshop

.	This will be an ABRF pre-meeting workshop on Saturday March 28, 2015 in St. Louis Missouri.  The workshop will focus on training users in the fundamentals of digital image processing with Fiji (http://fiji.sc/Fiji), ImagePro and Metamorph.

.	The workshop will combine lectures with extensive hands-on training.  

.	Topics will include: 
o	Contrast manipulation of gray scale images 
o	Introduction, terms, contrast, brightness, gamma
o	Counting: Thresholding, identifying objects, measuring objects, classifiers/filters
o	Color/hue analysis of absorbent visible stains
o	Quantitative fluorescence image analysis: Image segmentation, cell counting, cell scoring  spatial filters
o	Co-localization - pixel based (Pearson's/Mander's), object based 
o	Ratio based measurements - FRET, protein phosphorylation
o	Time-lapse data - making movies, kymographs, tracking
o	Tips for making figures for publication
o	Work with your own data

.	Attendees need to bring their own laptops with FIJI installed. They are also encouraged to bring their own images and image processing challenges.
