UV confocal users:

I would very much appreciate anykind of input regarding the NIKON
RCM-8000 video rate confocal microscope. I am particularly interested
in experiences using UV excitation and dyes such as indo-1, fura-2 and
SBFI to measure intracellular ion concentrations in living cells. How
does the system perform in regard of spatial resolution of Ca
signals? Has anybody measured the PSF of the system, for example with
the newly developed 40x/1.15 na water immersion lens? What are the
practical limitations of the system in regard to temporal resolution
using the UV ion dyes in living cells? Thanks for any information.
