Aaron,

Use the side output of your inverted scope, three coupled Newport
micrometer stages and a side window Hamamatsu PMT. You can get the
latter with built in power supplies that you run off of a variable 5
volt supply. Ted Pella and others sell pin holes of different
diameters. It will probably cost you about $3 k.
