Hi,
I would like to use the combined wisdom of the confocal mailing list to find
some quantitative information about the physiology of yeast cells, (and
being an electrical engineer, this is a little outside my scope of
knowledge!)
Specifically I would like to know about the refractive indicies of the
various cell components in budding yeast cells. There appear to be three
main components:
- cytoplasm
- nucleus
- centrioles
In DIC the nucleus appears to have a lower refractive index w.r.t. the
surrounding cytoplasm, and the small round centrioles have a much higher RI.
If anyone has information or a reference, I would greatly appreciate
knowing. Please email the list or myself directly ([log in to unmask]).
Thanks in advance,
David
