Just a tip for the unsaved information on the LEICA:

If you go to the directory /TEMP/DATA/ you can find your pictures saved
as row data. Just be sure you don't run the software before doing that.

Cheers,

A Leica TCS system 'typically' has a 4 line argon (which is a powerful
beast) along with green and red HeNe though of course there are any
number of other options. The question is what are you trying to do with
your system once the power goes out? Do you really want an extra hour
of full operation? If you had a UPS which would run just the confocal,
the computer and the cooling fan for the argon laser you would be fine
for a relaxed shutdown with no damage to equipment or loss of data. And
it would be a MUCH smaller UPS than one to run the lasers.

(For those who are unfamiliar with the Leica, it is possible
to have a LOT of unsaved data in the system which will be lost in a
power outage. Of course you should save as you go but ....)
