L-15 liebowitz media from gibco has been working great for me.  you can get
it with or without phenol and it is co2 independent.  i've used it for 16
hour cell imaging experiments and the cells look and act happy and
healthy.  i also grew cells (for several days)  in it to make sure it
wasn't just a short term thing.
