Thanks for the pics.
Though I know this pattern in X-T scans, I personally never
observed it in X-Y images.

It looks like 50 Hz intensity modulation. If you make a
vertical plot over the stripe pattern. Combine the period of
the sine wave with the scan speed to see whether it is
really 50 or 100Hz.

I do exclude the Mira. Once it falls out of mode-lock I
doubt it would come back by itself at 50Hz. The argon laser
might be the cause, but not if you see the pattern with the
Mira as well.

Interestingly, a 50 Hz interference is not necessarily
synchronous with the Galvo scanner, so I would expect rather
diagonal stripes than only horizontal. On the other hand,
intensity changes only in Y direction (vertical) in your
images and over several scan lines. So I don't think it's
the Y-Galvo mirror. Could it be vibration of the
coverslip/focus in Z direction? This excluded I would check
more "upstream", i.e. AOTF, AOBS (if present), PMT, frame
grabber.
