Hi Mao. I don't believe that size matters, except for the thickness of
course. Most optics are corrected for 0.17mm coverslip thickness.

Cheers!
Mike

Subject: Is there a lower-limit to the size of coverslip

Hi there,
I am a novice to confocal and have a ignorant question. I do live tissue
GFP
imaging and use a tiny piece of glass coverslip(about 0.3mm x 0.5mm) to
cover
my sample because larger sizes would be inconvenient. The images look OK
but I
am not sure if this is theoretically valid. Can I use a coverslip as
small as
I want, or does it have to be larger than a certain size in order for
the
optics to work properly?
Thank you very much,
Mei
