Robert

The observations on your system look strange.

Spectral accuracy is defined to be better than 5 nm.

There is a built-in service tool enabling automatic calibration using the blue, green and red laser lines (for use by service technicians).

Calibration of your system to specification was confirmed during a preventative maintenance visit on 14 June 2004.

There is no influence of temperature changes on sliders or software.

A spectral confocal calibration test, which we endorse, as it is taking into account all elements of the confocal system is going to be submitted in a couple of weeks by Alberto Diaspro of the University of Genoa (private communication).

Please contact me off-list if further details need to be exchanged.

Regards
Martin
