Does the presence of tree swallows in a park near water discourage chimney
swifts from the same area?
We are considering erecting a chimney swift tower in Theodore Wirth Park,
near Wirth Lake just off Glenwood Avenue. In past seasons, this area is
heavily used by tree swallows. They often congregate on the wires that
cross the park. Will their presence discourage chimney swifts from roosting
in this area?
Thanks for any suggestions.
