Townsend's Solitaire back in its usual place: Ann Lake, just south of
Sherburne Refuge, one mile east of Sherburne CR 5, road opposite CR 4
western turnoff. It was calling just off the parking lot on the right hand
side, then flew into the bare trees about 150 yards west of the right hand
trail. Very conspicuous and active.

Although the area was otherwise quiet, remember that it can be excellent in
early to mid-winter: Bohemian Waxwings, both Crossbills, Northern Goshawk,
Common Ravens, Black-backed Woodpecker.

Many thanks to those who answered my Ft. Sill, Oklahoma inquiry last week.
Although no specific birding time was available, did enjoy Inca Doves -
Loggerhead Shrike - Northern Mockingbird - Short-eared Owl - Western
Kingbird and other area birds. Scissor-tailed Flycatchers were,
unfortunately, absent. Daughter is now in training in San Antonio.

Good birding to all!
