Here is a direct link to the three proposed sites.

Those familiar to "Roberts" will recognize that the first site (first map, the extreme NE corner of Roberts) would be a very inconvenient location for birders. It's part of one of the largest and broadest undisturbed areas in the reserve.
The second site, the SE corner of Roberts, is already off-limits to birders as it's used by maintenance facilities.
Both of these would probably increase dog traffic through Roberts, due to the proximity of the off-leash area to the reserve.
The third site is just east of Lakewood Cemetery, across Dupont Ave S, in what is now a large maintenance facility. Converting an old concrete parking lot to dirt and mulch for a dog park seems like a great idea, but the dog owners might reject this option as the aesthetics leave something to be desired.
Prior locations that have been considered for this park have been taken off the table already due to community input, so you should assume that any input you provide would also be considered as the park continues to seek a home.

Subject: [mou-net] Roberts Bird Sanctuary
As many of you know, the Mpls. Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is looking
for a location for an off-leash dog park in south or southwest
Minneapolis. Two of three locations are adjacent or very near the east entrance to
Roberts Bird Sanctuary. Below is are excerpts from an update regarding this
issue, which is being monitored by Aud. Chap. of Mpls.
I think that little is known about the effects of dog parks on bird
sanctuaries. If anyone has access to research or other information, you can
contact Kit at the following:

Here's an update for people on what's happening regarding possibly
locating
an off-leash dog park next to Roberts Bird Sanctuary.
The issue has not been added to the MPRB agenda and no citizen input
meetings have been scheduled.
You can mail a letter, send an email, or make a phone call, or do all
three! The Commissioners need to hear from us.
If you are not opposed to dog parks in general, please let the
Commissioners know this as well. (When my dogs were alive, I often took
them to off-leash parks.)
Also, please forward this email to others who want to preserve and protect
the Sanctuary.
