I can tell you that 15 miles across the MN border here in South Dakota, Tufted Titmouse is a very rare bird--fewer than 10 records with the following dates of sighting: 1931 (N), 1925, 1960, 1922, 1921, 1963, 1977 and 1999.

This despite many eyes looking in good habitat, and let's face it (I have them breeding at my sister's house in Virginia) their call notes are HARD TO MISS!
