We have a white light laser on our Leica SP5X confocal system which spans the range of 470nm-670nm.
It has worked well for us for regular confocal samples and applications, but we have not done FLIM on this system.
I am not sure of the model - it is supplied by Leica (no choice) - our system was purchased in Sept 2008.
We've had a replacement laser since, that has been working fine for us (same model as the original as far as I know).
The max laser power at 488nm on the WLL is about 1/5th the max laser power of our 488 line on our Argon laser at last measurement. Feel free to contact me if you have further questions -
Lisa

Dear All,

We are looking into white light laser for confocal system.

Could you, please share your experience with the white light laser including its performance in FLIM applications. Is 488 nm line strong enough? Is there a white light laser with broad spectral coverage that would also include 400-450 nm range?

Many thanks in advance,

Vitaly
