Check out this company Bio Surplus http://www.biosurplus.com/

They buy labs that are closing down and I have seen some pretty good prices on fluorescent microscopes.   You should look up the contact number and contact Fred Hill - He is the person I have dealt with and he may be able to cut you a deal even beyond their asking price.  They also have auctions that can yield pretty good results.

Dear microscopists,

This message is a duplicate of one I recently posted on the microscopy listserver, so please pardon the redundancy if you are a subscriber to that listserver.  A member of MSA suggested that I post on confocalmicroscopy too.

I’m a new faculty member at a small liberal arts school, and like many of us, I’m working within the confines of a diminishing budget and resources. 
In my previous professional positions I’ve been an avid user of various types of microscopes, and incorporated their use in my courses and research.
 In my present position I am limited in this respect, as our catalog of
microscopes is limited to low-end standard teaching microscopes.   I’m eager
to acquire a fluorescence microscope for teaching and research.

I’m actively trying multiple avenues to try and acquire a fluorescence microscope; seeking equipment donations, used equipment at a discounted price, and applying for grants to purchase equipment for use in the classroom and for research.  I’m reaching out to this community to see if anyone has a fluorescence microscope system for donation (or possibly discounted price).  If anyone is aware of equipment for donation, it is possible I could request support from my administration for packing/shipping or depending on location I could do it myself.
