For dual monitor setups I have actually implemented one large screen and
one smaller screen. The smaller, cheaper monitor has all the controls and
buttons on it, while the large high-quality screen has mostly just the
image on it. I find users appreciate having the interface and the view on
separate monitors. Keeping the large high-quality one free for the imaging
view lets the users tile out their channels with nothing obscuring the
windows. For my setups that have just a single monitor, you want at least a
27" class monitor with 2560x1400 resolution so you have room for both the
interface and the view. There are 'Ultra HD' displays coming out that have
3800+ pixels, but I worry that the overall quality of the display, such as
color reproduction, has taken a hit for the sake of the higher resolution.
