I would like to trade a traditional 543 HeNe for a solid state source in one of my confocal systems. More power, reliability, sick of changing out tubes etc.
Its too painful to change the glass in the scan head or pay a service engineer to come in with his gadget to reprogram the AOTF so I do not really want to change wavelength.
There are of course many sources for the DPSS lasers, but obviously we all want a laser with a minimal (less than a mm) profile, no divergence and we want to pay as little money as possible.
So my question to the list is.. whats the best value source that fits my criteria, say: 20mW, 543nm, narrow, circular beam profile.
Vendors are welcome to contact me offline, I will share the results with the list if there is interest
