2-photon?
I whould like to hear what information there is about "two-photon" excitation
and its application with confocal microscopy. I know two papers dealing with
this, but I suspect that there should be more information available. I am
interested in both the underlying theory, the hardware, and the application
to confocal microscopy.
Since this is a relatively new (and expensive) technique there isn't that
many papers around yet, but I whould be very grateful to get comments and
information about this technique.
Paper 1: "Two-Photon Laser Scanning Fluorescence Microscopy"
by Winfried Denk, James H. Strickler and Watt W. Webb
published in Science, vol.248, 6 April 1990.
Paper 2: "Fundamental improvement of resolution with a 4Pi-confocal
fluorescence microscope using two-photon excitation"
by Stefan Hell and Ernst H.K. Steltzer
published in Optics Communications 93 (1992) 277-282
(Since I am new in the the "user group" I may apologize if this been
discussed in detail before)
Thanks/ Martin
