We have had some problems with our framestore board on our MRC-600. When using
the "accumulate" filter about 1 in 5 times we get a framestore error message.
After this we can not use the "accumulate" function unless we exit and then
re-enter COMOS (we can use the other functions). We have tried 3 boards and
the problem still exists, Bio-Rad (who were very helpful) finally thought that
there might be a software incompatability with our computer (DEC Station 425C)
and reccomended the next time we buy a computer to check with them for
compatability. We have also had problems that may be related to the framestore
borad with COMOS not being able to find the focus motor, this usually happens
in the middle of a run out of the blue. Any suggestions ?

After installing the latest board I noticed that the frequency of crashes was
decreased but after the computer warmed up the images became very distorted.
This was due, apparently, to the framestore board getting too hot and was
simply remidied by rearranging the boards so that the f-store board was as far
away from the other boards as possible to allow air cooling.

PS I appologize for the blank message I think I sent off prior to this.
