My two cents:
 
As long as vendor contributions to this board remain 'professional,' I
have no problem with them airing their views.  I don't think much will
ever be 'gotten away with,' due to inherent self-policing by all the
readers/users.   In fact, these point/counterpoint duels are not only
informative, but also a tad entertaining....
