We have recently bought a Kodak Colorease and are very impressed=20
with the quality of the output. You are hard pressed to tell the difference=
=20
between confocal images that we have shot onto colour slide film, using a=20
polaroid CL 5000 slide maker, developed then printed as compared to images=
=20
printed with the Kodak colourease. We reckon that the cost per A4 page is=20
about =A31.38 and that often allows us to get two or three images per page.=
=20
Saves me a lot of mucking about in the dark room. We are also finding many=
=20
users are scanning gels, westerns, southerns and autoradiaographs then=20
printing them out fully labeled on the colourease.=20
The colourease sits very nicely on our network and appears to be=20
very reliable, with images being sent from both PCs and MACs. However the=20
time to print more complex images eg a composite of six full colour confocal=
=20
images on one page with figure legends can be considerable, up to 60 mins.=
=20
However once these images are sent from the PCs, generally taking 5-10 mins=
=20
, they sit on the file server waiting to be printed off.
