I am preparing an instrumentation proposal seeking funds for a Nipkow Disk
so that we can do confocal microscopy without the excessive cost of a LSCM.
The disk is to be part of our Nikon Optiphot. We have used the Technical
Instrument Co. K2 SBIO, available from Nikon. Based on Kino's design,
this disk provides very satisfactory results.

My question is: are there other manufacturers of Nipkow Disks? I believe
the Tracor-Northern tandem scanning confocal microscope is for their own
microscope. We are interested in a disk attachment that is easily mounted
on the microscope (eg., that does not require modification of the
microscope) and that has small pinholes and reduced internal reflections
(as in Kino's design).

Thanks in advance .

Howard
