After seeing the instrument's performance a few weeks ago, we have issued a
purchase order for the Technical lnstrument/Nikon "BriteI" CLSM.  This is a
pinhole scanner with beam delivered by fiber optics.  Some of its specs are
summarized in Table 1/Appendix 2 of  the Pawley Handbook, 2nd edition.  The
unit delivers good-looking confocal pictures, and is compact and easy to
set up.
