But unfortunately, although the manual is otherwise extremely help- and
useful, the topic of getting files from os9 to the Mac is not covered, at
least not in Version 1.59

I also tried Fetch in the begining and I am happy to learn from this thread
that I am not the only one who did not make it run.

However, I found another Program, Xferit, and it is doing the Job quite well:

You have to predefine a folder to which everything is transfered
(Menue files/preferences/receive files to path below),

then you can mark several directories (after of course connecting to os9
and moving to the correct directory), start the transfer and come back the
next morning.

Use Binary!: Menue TransferType/Binary,
then mark directories or files (I assume they must be all in the same
window, I never tried otherwise)
then choose Menu Remote/GetFolderTree.

I hope everything is correct, but cannot guarantee it since the os9 machine
is currently down and in another building and it is heavily raining... ;-)

I am using Version 1.5b4, it is shareware. Although the program is quite
"old" for a software, it works fine also under System 7.5.3, except that
drag and drop does not work. But you do not need this for what I have
described above.

I attach the result of an archie-query to the end of this mail, to get it
you can probably use either Netscape or Fetch. I suggest to try a server
near you :-)

Hope this is helpful out there! Comments appreciated (private mail, better
not to the list...)

Steffen
