It took a few days longer than I expected, but I now have the lsm-users
mail list up and running. You can post messages to it by sending mail
to:

[log in to unmask]

Those of you who emailed me earlier requesting to be put on the list have
been added (you should recieve a welcome message...if you don't let me
know and I'll try to figure out what I've done wrong). If you didn't
send me anything previously, and want to be subscribed, you can now do
that yourself by sending a message containing 'subscribe lsm-users' in
the body to

[log in to unmask]

Below, I include the information blurb for the list.

Cheers

-----------------------------begin included text--------------------------------
The LSM-users mail list has been created as a forum for the
discussion of Zeiss LSM confocal microscopes. It is hoped that
this list will facilitate sharing of techniques, software and support
among users of these instruments, and further nurture cooperation
within the LSM user community.

Appropriate postings to this list would include, but not be limited
to, requests for help with technical problems, discussions of new
equipment or technology, descriptions of modifications made to
your system, announcements of conferences/courses, job
postings, references to relevant publications, for-sale and want
ads, and general discussion of optics and confocal microscopy.

Archives will be maintained at: http://www.sfu.ca/~bryanc/lsm-users.archive/

To subscribe to this mail list send an e-mail to [log in to unmask] with
"subscribe lsm-users [your e-mail address here]" in the body (not the
subject) of the message. The e-mail address is optional; if it is not
specified, the address the message came from will be used.

To subscribe to the digest form of the list (such that you get only one
message per day, containing all the traffic from the list in it) send mail
to [log in to unmask] containing "subscribe lsm-users-digest [your e-mail
address here]"

The list is being administrated by Bryan Crawford ([log in to unmask]) who
will also be acting as keeper-of-the-FAQ. Any questions or comments can
be mailed to him.
