I dont understand this -- the cone of illumination is similar to that of a
conventional laser scanning confocal. Perhaps someone on the list can explain
to me what I am missing.

I also dont understand this. Why should a nipkow disk system eliminate
autofluorescence. Perhaps it is the use of visible light excitation that
eliminates the autofluorescence.
