Question on behalf of a colleague intending confocal purchase:
Does anyone have experience with or can comment on appropriate lasers
for FRAP work. A colleague is trying to make a budgetary decision,
and has a choice between
new 75mW ArKr (triple line),
and
new 15mW Ar (488, 514nm) + their own red HeNe.
BioRad have suggested the 15mW laser is more stable and will supply
enough power for photobleaching. This sounds correct, but we do need
actual confirmation from users if possible. Comments from any users
with similar setups would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ian.
