Dear William,

For the starch, I would try one of the fluorescent brighteners.  These are
used in the textile industry to make white shirts appear whiter.  Sigma
Chemicals has one, catalogue #F6259 in the 1994 catalogue.

I would very much appreciate it if you could pass along some of the other
suggestions you receive, not only for the starch labeling, but for fat and
protein as well.  We are looking for a similar matched set for labeling
tissue specimens.
