This morning I received around 20 spam mails and only about 5
from the members of the list.  This results ENTIRELY from the
fact that the list is mirrored in a newsgroup, and affects only
those, like me, who are regular contributors to the group.  I am
not prepared to tolerate this any longer, but before unsubscribing
I would like to ask the members of the group (and the moderator,
Bob, who does a lot of work for very little credit!) if they
would consider cutting off the newsgroup mirror.  If not ...
democratic decision or not (!) ... I'm outta here.
